Allison Transmission Korea Sponsors 2019 County and Lestar Lovers Club Event

SEOUL, South Korea – Nov. 18, 2019 – Allison Transmission Korea announced their sponsorship of the 2019 County and Lestar Lovers Club event. The two-day event was held at the Gwangdeok Rest Area in Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do.

Marking its 18th anniversary, the annual meeting of the County and Lestar Lovers Club attracted over 150 Hyundai County and Zyle Daewoo Lestar light buses, more than 300 members of the club and their families, as well as people from the commercial vehicle industry.

Despite a typhoon threatening to derail the event, Allison Transmission established a booth to greet club members. A County bus equipped with Allison T 1000™ fully automatic transmission was available to host ride and drive experiences for participants. In addition, participants were briefed on the advantages and benefits of Allison Automatics and given a souvenir kit of shirts, fans and other gifts.

Allison Transmission had T 1000 fully automatic transmission released for the County and the Lestar since 2013 and 2015 respectively. The market share of fully automatic transmissions in the light bus segment has grown to approximately 26 percent.

Allison fully automatic transmissions have a proven reputation for quality, reliability and durability. Vehicles equipped with Allison Automatics are proven to cost less to operate than a manual or automated manual transmission.

Allison Automatics have minimum maintenance requirements, meaning less downtime and lower overall maintenance costs. Its Continuous Power Technology™ allows engine torque multiplication at launch and power delivery to the wheels without interruption. As a result, Allison Automatic equipped vehicles not only accelerate faster, they expedite the work and are more efficient within the best duty-cycle speeds.

“Increasingly, many customers who have converted from manual to fully automatic transmissions recommend them to others after experiencing the greater value for their fuel efficiency, productivity, safety and convenience of fully automatic transmissions,” said Kyoungmee Lee, Allison Transmission Regional Manager. “We will strengthen our business in Korea so that more drivers will choose vehicles with Allison fully automatic transmissions.”
