Starting in mid-August 2020, three new hybrid refuse vehicles are joining the refuse collection fleet of the Swiss city of Thun. The vehicles are powered by Euro 6d diesel engines with Allison fully automatic transmissions, but the refuse collection body is working fully electric. Heated handholds for the loading crew at the rear, in addition to a drawer to dry wet gloves, show what else the city is able to provide its employees to increase comfort and efficiency.
